This weeks wednesday night mountain bike ride will be the long loop of Powderface. We will be starting at 7:00pm on Wednesday July 8th. This trail has some very steep sections up and down. The trail is about 22 kms long and should take somewhere between 2 – 2.5 hours. This ride will be an intermediate to advanced ride due to the amount of climbing involved in this ride. We will meet at Powderface parking lot on highway 66 at 7:00pm. If you need more information please email us or leave a comment here.Share on Facebook

We had an awesome ride tonight, we started from Paddy’s Flats campground and headed straight up sulpher springs trail and climbed all the way up to moose mountain road. The trail is beautiful and dry except for the very low point, which still has a little bit of snow in it. We then climbed up moose mountain road until the top entrance to the switch backs. The sun was still up but was quickly falling behind the moutains. Our dog buddy was having a great time little did he know we were just about to start our long fast downhill ride. We flew down the switch backs which are in perfect condition, nice and dusty dry. I took lots of shots of Grace with our new Canon Rebel XS camera with the new 250mm lens we got for it.
We then continued straight down the riverview trail until we hit the road. As we crossed the road onto the last piece of our trail. It was starting to cool off and the light was quickly deminishing. Buddy did great tonight and even kept up with us all the way down the riverview trail back to the campground. Once we hit the gravel road in the campground buddy slowed right down to a slow trot. We rode back to the car convincing him to keep moving. We ended up with a nice pieceful ride home as buddy went to sleep and didn’t wake up until we got home.

We just returned from a beautiful trailrun in bowmont park. We went for just over an hour, it was great to see so many people out enjoying the sunny warm weather regardless of what they were doing. The trails were completely clear and almost completely dry. There were a couple of spots where there was some mud holes but 90% of it was dusty dry. If this weather holds we will have to get the bikes out and hit the dirt in bowmont properly! Have fun and keep training for summer it will be here soon enough.Share on Facebook

This morning we started out at 6am again with a gym workout. We have moved to some different workouts now instead of strength. This workout included Box jumps, Front and rear lunges with one foot on the bosi ball, and sidewalking with a theraband around our ankles.
This evening after work we went for a road ride in Bragg Creek. We used our mountain bikes and started from the Bragg Creek Mall parking lot and rode 15km to the Moose Mountain road. We then turned around and rode back. It was a beautiful evening and the sun was out the whole time. It was warm enough for shorts and t-shirts except for where it was shaded and the cold was reflecting off the snow on the sides of the road.
It was very exciting and uplifting to our spirits to finally be outside riding the bikes again. It was nice to see that all of the hard work in the basement training all winter is paying off as we get outside.Share on Facebook

Once again another great day of training, we started out at 6am with a gym workout. This is our last week for strength training before we go into endurance and core. Over the last 5 weeks we have seen good increase in strength and now it is time to strip down the muscle but keep the strength.
After work we went for our local 5km run around our neighbourhood in South West Calgary with our dog Buddy. We then came home and got straight on the bikes in the basement (hopefully for the last time this winter) and pounded out an hour on the bikes watching the Transporter.Share on Facebook
